Zoning By-law for The Town of Saugeen Shores
Pursuant To Section 34, The Planning Act, 1990
All residents of the Town of Saugeen Shores are invited to attend OPEN HOUSES, on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Town of Saugeen Shores Municipal Building, 600 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin and on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Town of Saugeen Shores Municipal Building, 600 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin and on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Town of Saugeen Shores Municipal Building, 600 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin. The purpose of the Open Houses is to provide residents with an opportunity to review the proposed updates to the Comprehensive Zoning By-law of the Town of Saugeen Shores.
Take further notice that a PUBLIC MEETING will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Saugeen Shores Municipal Building, 600 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin ON to consider public comments for the proposed Comprehensive Zoning By-law updates for the Town.
Purpose and Effect of the proposed Zoning By-law updates– The Corporation of the Town of Saugeen Shores proposes to amend the Saugeen Shores Comprehensive Zoning By-Law #75-2006. The Comprehensive Zoning By-law provides detailed land use regulations and mapping in order to regulate the use of land, buildings and structures within Saugeen Shores. The Comprehensive Zoning By-law would implement the policies of the County of Bruce Official Plan and make revisions to conform to the updated Saugeen Shores Official Plan, implement recommendations in the Design Guidelines and Streetscape Plans, address ongoing issues and remove redundancies or potential conflicts with other Town by-laws, policies, programs or guidelines. The Comprehensive Zoning By-law would affect all lands within the Town of Saugeen Shores.
Any Person may attend the meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support or in opposition to the application. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Saugeen Shores before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Saugeen Shores to the Ontario Municipal Board, and may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
