Canada Day celebrations may look a little different this year, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t find a way to celebrate! The Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce has put together some festivities for residents and visitors of all ages to take part in.
Canada Day Kits
Kits will include paper Canada flags, temporary Canada Day tattoos and a colouring book and are available by donation. Thank you to the Southampton Arts Centre, OPG and MP Ben Lobb Member of Parliament Huron-Bruce for supplying kit materials. Proceeds from the kits will be donated to Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. Kits will be available for pick up at 600 Tomlinson Dr, Town of Saugeen Shores Municipal Office, parking lot on June 30th from noon until 5:30 pm, or while supplies last.
Dinner in the Driveway
Bring your Canada Day dinner out to your driveway at 5pm, and enjoy dinner with your neighbours while maintaining a safe distance! Many local restaurants will be offering Canada Day themed meals and take out options, so reach out and place your orders early.
Singing of ‘O Canada’
After dinner, everyone is encouraged to join in the singing of ‘O Canada’ at 7 pm. Check out the SSCC website and Facebook page for links to lyrics and audio. Make some noise immediately following singing of our national anthem to say thank you to all of the front line workers who have worked tirelessly to keep our community safe!
Wishing everyone a safe and happy Canada day!
