Dave Rudell, Chair
Southampton Olive Oil Company
Dave has been a co-business owner (with wife Donna) in Southampton since April 2015. At the Southampton Olive Oil Company, they strive to be unique and innovative in their approach to business, while always reaching for excellence.
Dave is excited to be a part of the BIA and will work to help make Southampton ever stronger, more vibrant and successful in the future. Business is the focus of the BIA, and a strong business sector offers support and opportunities to all residents and visitors to our ‘big’ little town by the lake.
Justin Niklaus, Vice-Chair
Justin is the Owner/Operator of Offshore Bakery in Southampton. Proud son of Sibbelina and Marcel Niklaus, the original owners and founders of Offshore Bakery.
He was raised locally and attended St Josefs Elementary School in Port Elgin, and high school at SDSS. Post secondary schooling includes; Baker Patisserie from Niagara College, and Business Entrepreneurship from George Brown college in Toronto.
Bruce Martin, Treasurer
Martin’s Home Hardware
Bruce is actively involved in the Southampton community on many levels. For years he has invested unlimited time as a volunteer on many town committees and interest groups that focused on Downtown Revitalization and Streetscape design forums addressing general downtown beautification. Bruce continues his interest in this area by being involved in the current active Streetscape committee of the BIA.
Carolyn Wilson-Grainger, Secretary
McIntee Real Estate
Carolyn Wilson is a real estate sales professional at Wilfred McIntee in Southampton, a local company that has assisted residents for over 60 years. Previously, Carolyn received Federation Equestrian International (FEI) Bronze in Verden, Germany and rode show jumping and three-day event horses, while living abroad in USA and Australia. Carolyn went to school in Toronto at George Brown College for Event Planning and Ryerson University for Business Management. After becoming a mother Carolyn retired as an Equestrian to pursue her second career in real estate.
Chris Robinson, Director
With confidence in Southampton’s potential for growth and business opportunities, Chris Robinson and his wife Lisa Crowley recently opened Lac Boutique on High Street. As a career entrepreneur, Chris brings a wide range of experience in business development, events and marketing to his role as a Southampton BIA Director. He is passionate about creating a welcoming town environment with a constantly improving streetscape that invites visitors to explore the offerings of local businesses and leaving with the desire to return time and time again.
Paul Schendel, Director
173 High Street
Paul is the Owner/ Operator of 173 High Street, an Inn for the fortunate few.
John Rich, Councillor, Southampton Ward
Councillor John Rich currently lives in Southampton with his wife Tara Somerville and their three boys, Leif, Hiatt and Eian.
He believes that we are all better when we are working toward a common goal. John would like to build on the success of Saugeen Shores and ensure we create a community that inspires health, creativity and economic success far into the future. He encourages open lines of communication with residents.
Heather Hyde, BIA Coordinator
Heather Hyde is a marketing professional with a background in retail, direct and experience marketing. In 2012 she moved to Southampton with her family from Toronto. After the birth of her two daughters Heather is getting back to her marketing roots with the Southampton BIA.
