2. CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 6:42 p.m.

That the minutes of the September 19, 2017 meeting, there being no errors, omissions or corrections, be adopted.
5. TREASURER’S REPORT
There was a discussion about 2018 budget ideas.
6. STREETSCAPE COMMITTEE
The Minutes of the last Streetscape Meeting were presented.

The BIA purchase 4 sand-coloured CRP benches for High Street in 2017 for placement in the Spring of 2018 and request that the Town re-locate 4 of the existing concrete benches to locations on the Albert Street gateways (e.g Foodland, Tim Hortons, etc.).
The flowers have been ordered for 2018.
New bike racks were discussed as a 2018 initiative.
There are concerns about trees being planted in the curb extensions on the High Street which could restrict visibility at the corners and block views of the lake. Mary Lou Hills will communicate the board’s concerns about this issue.
The Town has responded that the transformer pole in front of CIBC cannot be moved at this point but it is an issue that will be addressed in the future.
7. MARKETING PLAN PRESENTATION
Three logo proposals were reviewed.

That the Southampton BIA retain Design Doll to develop a logo design for the Southampton BIA as quoted at 1,400.00.
Heather Hyde provided a summary of possible advertising opportunities for 2017-2018.
The Shoreline Beacon has introduced targeted ads which costs $350.00 for 20 impressions for the 2018 budget. Board members must advise Heather Hyde before the November meeting of their top 4 choices of media.
8. PROMOTIONS/SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
There will be no conflict this year between Southampton Sparkles and Shoppers’ Night in Port Elgin.
The Southampton Coliseum’s 40th Anniversary is on November 4th, 2017.
9. INITIAL AGM PLANS
The November meeting will be devoted to planning the 2018 budget for the next AGM. Members should consider who we should invite to the AGM beyond our membership (Town Councillors, Town staff).
10. OTHER BUSINESS
BIA members will be attending the Coupon Country launch on October 23, 2017 at 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Bruce Power Visitorès Centre.

The next regular Board meeting will be Tuesday November, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the BIA Office.
